The Social Music Club is an independent initiative designed to be a space to come together with diverse people, in diverse spaces, and approach listening and sounding as co-creative practices, prompting the exploration of people’s boundaries through sound and vibration.
The sessions use text and graphic scores that invite participants to engage with their internal sound worlds and share them with others, often resulting in collective journeys or meditations.
A growing community has formed around this practice, engaging with sound, music, and listening from different perspectives. The project has been hosted in Amsterdam by De Appel, W139, De Thomaskerk, and Buurthuis De Havelaar. This project is a collaboration with musician and composer Koen Nutters and graphic designer Dee Vasilevskaia.
